It have been an amazing journey over the past four days and I know that i have not updated most of my social media due to some lack of network coverage where I’ve been. This is probably my first time ever driving up for five hours straight with a short intermission in between to rest my legs. If you were wondering where I went, I was up in Kuala Lumpur for a night before I head back down south for a night in a remote area to soak up the sun and for a quick photo shoot (for this post of course, whats a post without a good pose) and back up to the main town in Malacca to get a good rest before driving back to Singapore. The four days and three nights journey was indeed one of the most energy consuming vacation I have ever been to. Knowing that I am usually driven and not the one driving, this time, its was as good as me driving all the around Singapore five times, covering up to almost 1000 kilometers. Driving etiquette at the different states was of course somewhat challenging, but I must say, I still prefer the roads in Malaysia.
So back to the Roadtrip, strategically located around the main shopping district around Kuala Lumpur is where we chose to stay at. Well known for its indoor theme park with a 6 storey roller coaster, a 8 storey shopping mall, a 30 storey residence tower and a 30 storey hotel tower. Berjaya Time Square seems to be the accommodation of choice for many tourist. The swimming pool, located 10 floors up and right above the rolller coaster, it is definitely a place for them who enjoys the thrill and excitement with every vibration of the building. The rooms is not a major disappointment even though i can still see a major improvement ahead, hopefully. Every amenities was upsized, super long tubs, California king beds, spacious water closet and bidet and a luxurious vanity counter. With a view that fails to disappoint, you will not miss a sight of the two icons of Kuala Lumpur, the KL Tower (Menara Kuala Lumpur) on Bukit Nenas and the Kuala Lumpur Twin Towers (Menara Kembar Kuala Lumpur). and with the windows covering all sides of the rooms, if you squint a little bit more, you will be able to spot the iconic Telecom Malaysia Tower (Menara Telekom Malaysia). With such breathtaking views and such amazing amenities, the only fault I can find
was the service. Hopefully, a word with the Management will help them improve and continue to be at peak of luxury for a local brand.
Kuala Lumpur is not complete without the shopping and you have to do it the locals style, public transport. Shopping of a wide variety from the middle class along Masjid India, Lot 10, Sungei Wang Plaza or for the upper middle class the Malls at Pavilion, Farenheit, Suria KLCC and the upper class at Starhill Gallery. You can never have enough of shopping around the hustle and bustle around Kuala Lumpur city center. It is definitely a place for you and your pocket to be burnt, literally.
Where I’ve been on the second day is rather confidential, all I can say is that it is a remote area about 1 hour drive from Malacca, where I was for the last day. For them who loves some peace and tranquility, Malacca is the to go place. Even when I am staying at the center of the main shopping district, the Equator Club Suite never fail to deliver when it comes to service. And when it comes to amenities and space, it is definitely at the epitome of luxury in Malacca. I have stayed over at several major hotels there including Holiday Inn, but Equatorial Malacca never fails to make me feel like a king. With 2 balconies in the room, you can have an amazing and uninterrupted view of the south china sea. Even when tranquility is the main subject, I have to say that Malacca is one developing city with major brands like Topman, Aldo, G2000, UniQlo, HnM and many others taking over the retail outlets there. Which means, shopping is still possible with lesser people around you.
