Last weekend have been an amazing weekend getting amazing insights on the brand new luxury boutique hotel, So Singapore by Sofitel. An elaborated fusion of French luxury with Singapore’s cultural heritage that marks the arrival of a new era in luxury boutique hotel style. With stylish design credentials – interior design by Miaja Design Group led by French interior designer, Isabelle Miaja and the chic touches courtesy of the hotel’s signature designer, Karl Lagerfeld (Head designer and creative director of Chanel, Fendi and his own label). Sofitel SO Singapore definitely features the best of the East and the West.

La Bibliotek by Karl Lagerfeld

35 Robinson Road, an address of prestige, located in the heart of Singapore, Sofitel SO Singapore have got the privilege to build their hotel empire on a landmark heritage building with almost 100 years of history. The hotel features two main wings, the SO Hip and SO Heritage which houses all the guestrooms and suites. And under all this is a very cozy lobby that includes a Xperience Bar and Xperience Restaurant and hidden in a little corner of the lobby is an exclusive area that features Karl Lagerfeld books. Named the La Bibliotek, it is a literary hideaway curated by Karl himself. Another feature that runs throughout the entire hotel is the Emblem. Inspired by the age-old story of the discovery of the Lion City by a Sumatran prince – which marked a new chapter in the evolution and growth of the island-country. Karl Lagerfeld’s Emblem, “The Lion Seal” definitely commemorates the birth of the Lion City and 14th century folklore that accompanies it. And trust me, when you get Karl Lagerfeld and Isabelle Miaja to collaborate, nothing is ever compromised and every detail is accounted for.
