Hello Kuala Lumpur!
Finally, I get the opportunity to see you again! Feels like I was only here just yesterday, I am not sure why, but it sure does feel like my second home. Perhaps its because I always feel welcomed here and knowing that most of my friends are from here!
So, this time, I decided to pick my accommodation literally a stone throw away from one of the buziest and prominent malls in Kuala Lumpur, Pavilion.
Located along the infamous Jalan Bukit Bintang (which literally means Star Hill), The Westin Kuala Lumpur is situated in one of the most prime area in the city. Definitely easily accessible and pretty much walking distance to everywhere I planned to go in Kuala Lumpur. The first thing that struck me about the Westin chain is the effortlessness of their designs. Westin is well known for their rather simple interior design (I would know don’t you think?) and really keeping every detail to the minimal and focusing on the most important part of every hotel – the bed, or in this case Westin Heavenly Bed, as they would call it. Westin emphasis on a good sleep is critical for both mental and physical health, hence the 250 thread count sheets and down duvets promises to lull you into deep, restful sleep you need to during your perfect vacation.
Although it was rather unfortunate I did not get to personally view the suites but as they were having a full house that weekend, but I promise that I will drop by again if i have to opportunity to share with you guys my view! Well at least my room is located on the Starwood Preferred Guests floor, with a perfect view of the city. 😀
Westin Kuala Lumpur also offers full five star facilities which includes a full sized gym, complete with in-house trainers. Better known as Westin Workout, they design of the gym was kept again to the minimal making your workout experience feel extremely light and airy complimented with amazing views of Kuala Lumpur makes your feel as if you are working out in the outdoors! Westin Workout Fitness Studios comes complete with state of the art equipments for high-performance workouts to provide the ideal solution for guests who are committed to maintaining an active lifestyle during their stay.
Not to forget, if you do feel like you need an extra ‘add on’ to your workout or to spice it up a little, Westin do have programs which as Run Westin which is a workout routine with fresh air and local sceneries. Westin have mapped the perfect route for runners of all levels to enjoy the outdoors to the maximum and still able to enjoys the views on a safe walking/running path. And guess what! If you intend to travel light, Westin Gear Lending (which comes at a very small price, obviously not ridiculous rates) is the perfect way to do so. Westin Gear Lending which features gears by New Balance for both genders are readily available as and when you decide to keep fit! Thus you need not make the decision it you are gonna have a active vacation or a lazy one in the deep soaking tub!
Another feature I would like to highlight not only in this hotel, not many others that I have personally been to is the swimming pool. Alright not everyone of us swims or enjoy baring our skins in front of others. But what about those who enjoys lazing around the pool with a good book or a glass or mocktail? Westin Kuala Lumpur have the perfect setting for that filled with lush greeneries around the pool with a generous number of daybeds and loungers, you will definitely get a space to kick back and enjoy the peaceful time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Apart from the five restaurants the hotel houses, Westin Kuala Lumpur Executive Club Lounge located on the upper floors of the hotel is one of the best place to lounge and enjoy the view of Kuala Lumpur and the beautiful skyline. The lounge usage are only for those who books the clubrooms and suites hence it is less crowded as compared to the mainstream restaurants within the hotel. It is also where the guests of the suites and clubrooms can check in and out much swiftly and ofcourse privately. Complete with an outdoor patio with the view of Bukit Bintang, it is the most comfortable place to get you hi tea fixed and just get a catch up session with your girlfriends perhaps.
Last but not least, fancy an in-room massage or staying over for some special occasion. Westin is the perfect place to do so as they are always a step ahead of you. They will anticipate your arrival and departure needs and also assist you in all your needs and requests as close as they can to ensure your comfort during your stay. So fret not and request away, Westin Kuala Lumpur might even be a step ahead of you and trust me when I say you are up for a treat coz to them, all their guests are royalties.
