Audi Fashion Festival 2014

Today marks the end of the five day event organised by the Singapore’s leading and fully integrated communications agency, Mercury Marketing and Communications. Audi fashion festival which have been around for four years running since 2009 have yet to disappoint any fashionistas from around the globe. Fashion fans seems to have their eyes on this event every year even though the ticketing prices are ridiculously expensive. And yet many just had to find their way in. This year, there are several big names gracing the runway such as the well known Prabal Gurung, making its debut return back in Singapore, Oscar de la Renta for the closing show a few moments ago, Desigual, Ashley Isham, Ong Shunmigam, Parco Japan feat Dresscamp and Thomas Tait just to name a few. Of course I did not attend all the shows, who am I to even be invited after all. But I was blessed enough to have friends with sources and Harpers Bazaar which got me into two shows. God bless them.

So if everyone should know, this is indeed my first Audi Fashion Festival that I’ve attended, thus that makes me an AFFvirgin. Right? Oh well, most of the Fashion shows run the same way, just different venues, different set of viewers and different group of designers. Honestly, I feel that AFF14 do have alot of sponsor behind their back and they do have a lot of supporters seen by the long queues before the show. I just pity them who took so much time to look good and dress up for the event, they had to queue up across a high human traffic area. I look forward for a better place to let this people queue up in peace next year.

On a brighter note, I managed to catch Parco Japan featuring Dresscamp and Thomas Tait. Not surprisingly, Parco Japan failed to disappoint since i also managed to catch a glimpse of their show during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. So i did have my high standards while watching the show but all the looks are just amazing. I am in ‘aww’ when i was watching the show while I tried to spot a friend of mine who walked for him. All of them just look fabulous. (image credits : WillyFoo LiveStudios)

Thomas Tait on the other hand almost disappointed me during the start of the show, but they manage to caputure my eyes again with the stunning looks towards the end of the show. I really did not understand the look at first as some of it just look ill fitted (or maybe the models were too thin) but then i begin to understand the geometric patterns and the abstract geometry worked around the models. its just captivating .

I didn’t like all the looks but these are some that really caught my ease (image source : AFF FB)

I cant comment much about the other shows as i wasn’t physically there to view it for myself. But i did manage to catch snippets of several shows by Prabal Gurung, Ashley Isham, Desigual and Oscar de la Renta on the Audi Fashion Festival Facebook Page. From what I’ve seen and heard by many, the shows did not disappoint at all, and i definitely agree with them. During the pre-show, i bumped into several familiar faces including Vanessa and Herbert form WTF, Azawi David aka Divonista and Adrian from Black Pixion, familiar photographers and even old friends from SCDF. I definitely enjoyed the show and really hope to get a better view of AFF next year, if I am invited.
